With 13 million people from over 140 countries, speaking 224 different languages, living in Los Angeles, our UCLA Scholars work with a uniquely broad range of diverse local and national communities, partners, and agencies to solve the most pressing health issues in our country. Our mentors at UCLA, RAND, and other partners like Los Angeles County Health Agency expose our Scholars to meaningful local and national networks and experiences. Situated on the UCLA main campus, home to rich cross-campus resources spanning business administration, computer science, public health, urban planning, medicine, and nursing. Our Scholars lead high-impact work in health policy, health economics, climate change and health, evaluation of AI in healthcare and implementation research. With over 50 years of history and a large alumni network, we offer tailored mentorship that supports each Scholar’s unique path. Additionally, the sunshine, opportunity for culinary adventures, yoga at the beach, and more are all wonderful aspects of Los Angeles that our Scholars enjoy.
